Start at zero, follow the task you already chose, and press Finish when it is complete. This For Time timer measures elapsed workout time, with optional preparation and session split markers.
Keep reusable timer setups here and return to them without rebuilding every value.

For Time means the task is defined in advance and its completion time is the measurement. The workout stopwatch counts upward while you carry out your chosen sequence. It does not decide how many repetitions to do or what finishing time should be considered good. The result is simply the elapsed duration between the start of work and the Finish action, excluding any period you explicitly pause.
A For Time workout timer is useful for an existing sequence, a fixed number of rounds, or another training task with a clear endpoint. Decide what counts as complete before you start. If you want a continuous elapsed result, let the clock run through breaks that belong to the task. Pausing changes what is included in the measurement.
Set preparation to the number of seconds you need before timing begins, or choose zero to start immediately. Preparation is separate from elapsed time. Press Start, wait for any preparation countdown to end, and watch the clock begin at zero. The large display shows minutes and seconds, adding an hour field for longer sessions. Sound can mark the start and finish if enabled and allowed by your browser.
Use preparation to put the device down and get into position. If the page is delayed during preparation, the stopwatch still begins at the scheduled boundary rather than when the browser finally redraws the digits.
Pause holds the exact accumulated duration. Resume starts a new running span from that value. A paused preparation period also resumes its remaining countdown; it does not restart the entire preparation period.
Finish freezes the result and ends the session. It is available once elapsed timing has begun, including while that timing is paused. Reset returns the workout stopwatch to its ready state and removes the current split markers.
Mark split records the logical elapsed time at the moment you press it, rather than copying the last rendered second. You might mark a completed round or the end of a section already present in your routine. These are cumulative timestamps from the same start, not separate countdowns. Subtract one marker from the next if you need the duration between them.
The split list is optional and appears in the settings panel after you add a marker. It holds up to one hundred markers for the current session. Marking a split does not stop or restart the training stopwatch. Session markers are kept in page memory and disappear on Reset or reload; the save action saves preparation settings, not results or a long-term exercise history.
AMRAP fixes the duration and asks you to record work completed before the countdown reaches zero. For Time fixes the task and asks you to finish the elapsed clock yourself. If your instructions say “work for twelve minutes,” use AMRAP. If they specify a sequence and ask for its completion time, this For Time clock matches that model.
EMOM signals the beginning of repeated windows, usually minute boundaries. An interval timer alternates scheduled work and rest phases. This elapsed workout timer does neither: its finish depends on your action, not a scheduled phase transition. The CrossFit hub offers these models together, while the dedicated pages keep their own controls and explanations. A workout timeline builder is preferable when segment order and differing durations are central.
The For Time timer uses a monotonic timestamp to measure running spans. Delayed redraws do not add or remove one second at a time, and pause preserves the remaining fractional precision internally even though the display shows whole seconds. Finishing records the logical duration at the button press. This is practical browser timing, not a professional timing-certification claim.
Keep the page open and visible when a result matters. Operating-system sleep or a suspended browser may affect the clock and its audio, and the page cannot detect a physical finish automatically. Fullscreen improves visibility where supported; screen wake requests are optional. Turning sound off leaves the stopwatch usable. Reloading starts a fresh session, so note a finished result before leaving.
Practical answers about how this timer format works.
No. The core clock counts upward until you press Finish. It has no workout time cap or target score. Use AMRAP for a fixed countdown or a scheduled interval tool if an automatic boundary is part of your chosen routine.
No. Paused time is excluded. If a break belongs to the elapsed task under your timing rules, keep the clock running through it. The tool measures your button actions and cannot interpret the rules of your workout.
Yes. The share action creates a link containing the preparation setting and selected input units. A saved setup stays in this browser. Neither action publishes your finishing result or the current session split list, and no account is required.
