Presets are convenient timing examples. Competition formats vary by organization, event, age group and ruleset.
Use a Muay Thai timer to separate pad rounds, bag practice and partner drills from their breaks. Set your own durations and follow clear round and rest cues.
Keep reusable timer setups here and return to them without rebuilding every value.

A Muay Thai round timer repeats an active countdown and a between-round break. Preparation comes before the first round, and completion comes immediately after the last. The display shows which round is running and whether the next phase is rest or another round. Thai boxing timer is another way to describe this clock; the name does not make its settings a rulebook.
The Muay Thai timer is useful when a pad holder, a participant or a group needs the same visible boundaries. It manages time rather than technique. You decide what happens inside each round, who changes roles and whether to pause for feedback. It offers no scoring, officiating or connection to a sanctioning body.
Plan the role of the break as carefully as the round. Changing pads, swapping partners and listening to an explanation are different tasks; a single default cannot decide how long those tasks should take.
Give the person holding pads and the person practising a common end signal. Use the rest countdown as a visible changeover window. If a switch requires longer than expected, pause the Muay Thai timer and resume when the pair is ready to continue.
Time a repeated bag block or a single technical task with a defined endpoint. You can keep the same duration while changing the focus in separate notes. The round counter tracks repetition; it does not count strikes, combinations or completed repetitions.
Start several pairs together for an agreed practice period, then give everyone a separate rest phase. Pause for an instruction or interruption. A Muay Thai training timer marks session boundaries but cannot supervise a pair or decide the appropriate content of the session.
The three examples fill the main fields quickly. Review them before pressing Start, especially when someone else will be listening for the bell.
Choose round duration, rest duration and round count. Seconds and minutes are alternate entry units for the same duration. Three three-minute rounds with two one-minute breaks total eleven minutes before preparation. No break is appended after the final round.
Open the preparation and warnings panel. Preparation is a one-time countdown before round one, useful when putting a phone down or taking your place at the pads. Set preparation to zero when you want the first round to begin immediately.
Enable sound and adjust volume, or use the display silently. Choose whether to hear phase cues and the last-three-second countdown. Start begins the sequence, Pause and Resume preserve remaining time, Skip advances one phase, and Reset restores the ready screen.
An audible transition means you do not have to look at the screen to notice that a pad round ended. The Muay Thai timer uses browser-generated tones rather than an uploaded recording. A warning gives an additional notice before a round boundary, while the rest tone marks the beginning of the break. Test that distinction on your device before using it with a group.
There is no single universal Muay Thai bout format represented here. Gyms, events, amateur and professional contexts, and sanctioning bodies may use different structures. The examples 3:00 / 1:00 × 5, 3:00 / 1:00 × 3 and 2:00 / 1:00 × 4 are training setup shortcuts. Choose custom values to match your planned practice, without treating a preset as individualized training advice.
Use this Thai boxing timer when pad changes and partner practice are the context you want beside the tool. The Boxing Timer names the break as corner rest. The MMA Timer explains mixed practice blocks and offers longer round examples. The Kickboxing Timer focuses on bag, pad and technical round planning. Each page uses the same reliable phase engine.
The generic Round Timer is appropriate for a sport-neutral class or drill. If your sequence needs different durations for individual exercises, a workout builder is a better fit than a repeating Muay Thai interval timer. The sport pages do not automatically insert technical instructions or select a ruleset when you press Start.
Keep the timer visible when you need immediate audible boundaries. Browsers may throttle a hidden tab, interrupt audio or stop activity when a device sleeps. The logical countdown catches up from its deadlines when callbacks resume, but it cannot deliver a bell at a moment when the page is suspended. Fullscreen enlarges the display where supported, and a screen wake request may be refused.
Current duration values are remembered locally. Named saved setups let you restore round, rest, count, preparation and warning choices together. A share link carries those numeric choices and units to the same tool; it does not share personal names or synchronize clocks. Sound and volume follow the receiving browser’s preferences. Reset a running or paused session before changing its configuration.
Practical answers about how this timer format works.
Set rest duration to zero. The next round starts as soon as the current round ends, and the round number advances. If you need one uninterrupted countdown rather than marked round boundaries, choose one round with the required length.
No. These are practical examples for entering values. Timings can differ between competitions and practice settings. Check the named event’s own requirements separately; this Muay Thai timer does not certify compliance with them.
Check Sound, Phase cues, browser permissions, device volume and the output device. Start with a direct tap or click to unlock audio. The visible countdown still works if sound is unavailable, and optional voice depends on installed language voices.
